The Fee Quest

Chapter 1

Once upon a time, in a far away land called Kristerforo, lived a King. His name was Leonel. He was a kind hearted man. He loved his country so much that he risked his own life in order to find a gem guarded by several beasts. He had to travel a month on foot, then he had to fight ten humongous beasts and after all of that only was he able to find the gem.

The gem’s name was, the Fee. It was green in colour and it was ellipse shaped. It was guarded by a vault and 100 members of “Kristerforen special forces”. The Fee could protect any country from starvation, diseases, dragon and beast attacks and if in case a war breaks the army with the Fee is going to win.

The King had a son named Leo. When he was 1 year old, a beast attacked the kingdom and killed his mother. One day, after he returned from school, he made his way to the throne room when he saw that his father was sad.

“Dad, is everything alright?” asked Leo

“No. Our kingdom is in grave danger.” replied King Leonel.

“What happened?” asked Leo

“ It is Sabrina the evil witch. She attacked with the most feared division in her army…the death squad,” replied King Leonel.

“How could Sabrina and the death squad attack when the Fee has the power to defend our country?” asked Leo.

“ Because the Fee is vulnerable to witchcraft,” replied King Leonel.

“In that case how are we going to fight Sabrina and her henchmen?” asked Leo.

“There is a sword which is stuck in a rock in Mistasia that is not vulnerable to magic, and it also acts as a shield  against magic and it is the only sword that can kill Sabrina. But only if you are worthy enough can you lift the sword. Now go and take a shower and finish homework,” replied the King.

 “Okay Dad,” Leo replied.

Chapter 2

A year and a half later, Leo turned 18 years old and he started to go to ‘The Royal fighting school’. Within a year, Leo was an expert, he passed his exam and when he returned home, his Dad gave him a gift…it was a suit of armour. He decided to go to Mistasia and try his luck in lifting the sword stuck in the rock…and he pulled it out! The sword didn’t have a name. Its handle was made out of gold and it was embedded in gems. He named it the Excalibur after the legend of King Arthur.

He asked if he could get an army of 100,000 men.

“Yes, my son” King Leonel replied. Leo got 100,000 men, 500 cannons, 70 knights  and 500 archers. He informed his dad that he was going on a quest but he didn’t tell  him that he was going to fight the skeleton army and Sabrina.

Chapter 3

He and his army travelled for 50 days, Then he reached the Jungle of Death. It was called the jungle of Death because no one has ever made it back alive. One of the soldiers warned him about the consequences of entering the jungle. But still Leo ordered them to enter. They entered the jungle, they could hear noises in the canopy above them.

Then…out of nowhere…GIANT GORILLAS appeared! “Ready the cannons!” ordered Leo. They had some handguns so they shot a couple of gorillas. And finally they killed all the gorillas. But when one Gorilla dies they turn into dust and a golden token is left. After defeating them they camped.

The next day, they continued their journey. Soon they encountered a giant anaconda. He had a name tag around his  neck and it read, ‘Anacondra’. It was a 14 meter long beast. It immediately slithered towards them and swallowed a soldier in whole. They readied the cannons and started to shoot both the cannons and the handguns. The foot-soldiers rushed at Anacondra with hand axes, swords, maces and daggers. Leo drew out the sword, which he pulled from the rock in Mistasia, and when he did so the big snake let out a loud shriek. He immediately understood that this was one of Sabrina’s beasts.

He mounted his black, armoured and muscular stallion named Buckshot and charged at the snake. Anacondra charged  at him immediately. Leo circled Anacondra and then…he charged at the beast and…stabbed Anacondra in the chest. The beast immediately fell down and turned into dust leaving another piece of gold. He got off Buckshot to examine the token then he realised there was some sort of writing on it and he finally found out that this was a map to the witch Sabrina’s realm.

Leonel and his army kept on going. Soon they reached the middle of the Jungle. “Stop!” Leonel commanded, “I think I saw a Leopard. Archers ready your bows…” before they could react…a large panther leaped on Leonel. Immediately the men with the bows, crossbows and hand guns started shooting at the beast. After a moment, it died leaving another token. Leonel jumped up and picked up the token. “It says we have to exit the jungle by just walking straight” he said. After a week, they arrived in the “Desert of doom”.

Chapter 4

The dessert of doom was a well known place. Many stories featuring adventure talked about the Desert of doom. Leo hoped that no beast would attack them. After walking for a few miles, dust rose.

“Hand me a telescope,” Leo asked the general. He looked through the telescope and saw a group of rebels, called the ‘Crimson vipers’ heading towards them. They raided everything they saw. They kidnapped the women, killed most men, made some slaves, and looted everything.

“It’s the rebel group Crimson vipers!” Leo yelled. All the men rushed to form a phalanx. The enemy archers readied their bow. The rebels were coming closer every second. The archers released their arrows, forming a cloud which blocked sunlight. All of the soldiers held their shields above them, hoping that they wouldn’t be shot.

Unfortunately, a few lost their lives. Then , Leo’s archers, crossbowmen and the gunmen took aim and fired. Since the rebels were mostly cavalry and since they had to cover long distances in a day, they didn’t carry shields. Many of the rebels died. After that, Leo’s men charged. Many got trampled by the horse of the ‘Kristerforen Cavalry’. They had millions of horses, each with armour. Soon the rebels were either killed or captured. The captured ones were forced to tell where their camp was.

Later, after they had questioned the remaining rebels and found where their headquarters were, they surrounded their base. On the break of dawn, they stealthily advanced towards the camp and attacked. Most men were asleep and didn’t even know what had happened. The whole operation took only 15 minutes. The battle had heavy casualties on both sides but mostly the rebels.

After destroying them, they continued their journey.  They walked for miles but still it felt like they hadn’t even moved an inch. After some time, a cloud of dust started to rise from the horizon. A general handed the telescope to Leo. He saw a huge sand storm coming towards them. He ordered his men to start digging but the wind was faster.

Within a few seconds, the army found themselves in a cloud of sand. The sand whipped against their faces. It lasted just for a few seconds but it felt like a long time. The storm faded out after some time. They continued to walk. By the end of the day, they reached the sea of Colepids. Colepids were whale-like creatures with long metal fins which acted like a blade.

They immediately asked the Kristerforen navy to provide them with rafts. Reinforcements arrived a few days later. They boarded the rafts and set sail. When they reached the deepest part, something went under it. It was a colepid. A raft near the one which Leo was on was sliced in half by the colepid. The raft slowly started to sink. The armour of soldiers pulled them down to the depths of the sea.

The whales did damage but they still managed to cross the sea.

Chapter 5

They left the rafts there for their return journey and continued to walk to Sabrina’s castle. After a few hours, they came upon a vast plain. They made camp and enjoyed the beautiful sunset. The next day, they resumed their journey. By the time it was noon, they reached a city. Leo divided his men and sent them into different parts of the city. Each group was given money, which they had brought from Kristerforo, to purchase food, water and other necessities. After purchasing, they reunited in the northern part of the city. Then, they continued to march to the castle. It took them a whole month to reach the area where the castle lay. There was a huge volcano. Its ashes blocked the sun, making the place dark.

As they walked, the ground started to rumble. Huge figures rose from the ground. Leo instantly realised they were Golems. The golems charged at them. Nothing seemed to stop them. Then suddenly, they turned around and started marching back to the castle. They knew only magic could control golems, but who had magic? Their eyes fell on Leo. He stood there arms raised high in the air. Blue light surrounded his hands.

Apparently, Leo had magical capabilities. He managed to hide them for this long. Everyone stared in disbelief but hope rose inside them. They kept on marching. After some time, they made camp. The next day, the golems returned. They joined the army on their march to Sabrina’s castle.

Soon they encountered a gigantic Balrog. Balrogs were half-human and half-bull which were made out of fire. The soldiers tried to fight it but everything burned before it could even reach it. Then, Leo uses his powers again to weaken the balrog. Then, the arrows finally started to work. Leo made a sword out of ice and started delivering heavy blows on the creature. Each blow weakened more and more until it died. The creature left a key-like token. Leo tucked it in his belt. After a few more hours of walking. They could see  the castle but they couldn’t cross.

Something was blocking them. It seemed to be an invisible wall.

Then, Leo found a lock hole floating in the mid air. He tried using magic to deactivate the wall but it didn’t work either. Then, he got an idea. He could try the key which was left by the balrog. He tried it and it worked! The wall disappeared and they stormed in. They were greeted by a whole horde of the undead. They were , basically, dead soldiers brought to life using black magic and to serve a master.

The Kristerforen troops fought gallantly but it was really hard to defeat them. Then another horde appeared. This went on for a long time. Both sides suffered heavy losses but cannons in the Kristerforen army helped a lot. Finally, the attacks stopped. They made camp and rested. The golems guarded the place at night. Meanwhile, Leo and his generals and commanders made plans on how to destroy the castle.

Chapter 6

The next day, as all the soldiers assembled, Leo handed them magical swords and temporary magical powers. He conducted a mini-training session. Then, they continued to march to the castle. Soon, a giant shadow fell on them…It was a Bloodfang. Bloodfangs were giant dragons with black scales and could breathe fire. The dragon sent flaming fireballs down on the army. Every time the dragon fired the soldiers would put shields above their head and every time the dragon got ready to fire The archers tried to shoot it down.

This continued for a long time until the Kristerforen archers managed to bring it down. The dragon incinerated immediately. Then they continued to march. Their goal, the castle, stood out from the horizon. As they walked forward, a horde of undead charged towards them. They fought and fought. That day many people lost their lives. At the end, the Kristerforen side won.

They finally reached the castle.

“Fire the cannons!” Leo yelled. Soon the castle was being blasted to pieces by Leo’s army. Then the Death Squad came. He remembered what his dad had said about the Excalibur. He drew out the sword and led the charge. At the end, they managed to defeat the Death Squad. Then they boarded the castle. After a while of searching they finally reached Sabrina’s lair. Leo and Sabrina engaged in a fierce magic duel. In the end Leo managed to defeat her. Then he plunged the sword into her heart killing her. He found the Fee and Leo stormed out of the castle, victorious. Then they packed their stuff and returned home.

When they reached Kristerforo, they were given a hero’s welcome. King Leonel was surprised when Leo showed up with the Fee. All soldiers under his ranks were awarded for their bravery.
